What does “Dendritics” mean?
While Dendritics, Inc. in Massachusetts may still be servicing their gem scales, they have moved on. Aside from the interesting geology of crystal dendrites, it was not clear why a maker of portable gem scales used the term.
In need of a company name, Dendritics was chosen in July of 1987 as the moniker for computer consulting. Active through 1995, it was my college side hustle. In the pre-web computer days, education was critical. The Dendritics moniker implied that customers would grow dendrites to link old and new knowledge.
The original tag line was “focus the power of thought” which accurately described the result of adopting computers as a tool. It also left the door open to growing possibilities. Ultimately, the need for a company arose, and in March of 2023, Dendritics was registered with the State of Oklahoma. We serve the local community with detailed support programs. Via this website, we offer our services to the world, no matter what form they may take.
